BLACK ROCK

Our BRIEF:

On a corner block location, the back half of the house was completely un-used and dilapidated. Our brief was to modify the existing home into two separate units for the opportunity to further develop the property as a sub-division.

The right-hand side of the home remained largely un-touched, with a simple freshen up to find a flattering balance of new and old. The left-hand side was however complete re-build to the existing structure. Externally, the new separated units would need new front facades with landscaping design to suit.

BEFORE

what we did:

The pre-construction phase included considerable excavation and demolition works to the existing façade and front garden. Due to splitting the property in two, new gas and electricity lines needed to be ran; and plumbing services such as sewer were to be divided in half.

Internally, a staircase was constructed. This process was undertaken closely with the client. Although design had already been completed by an external party, once onsite the MC team suggested that different landing position locations would provide better functionality. We re-surveyed the space, and built as per the change. Our client was much happier with the outcome, impressed by the additional space it gave both down & upstairs.

New timber flooring, tiling, architectural glass installation, custom recycled timber vanities are just some of the custom features installed. Externally, new decking, roofing, landscape and cladding.

For MC Custom builds, although challenging to be churning out two custom projects at the same location alongside each other with differing objectives. We are very proud to have successfully completed such a master build.
