Our BRIEF:

The existing 1902’s quintessential Australian homestead was in need of a renovation to ensure this investment purchase be rented. MC Custom Builds were tasked with keeping the inviting country feel whilst ensuring all spaces felt luxuriously functional for today’s lifestyle.

The homestead was without a laundry, toilet off the kitchen, 4-bedroom home with only one bathroom.

what we did:

Pre construction was predominately demolition to open up the living area, and provide a new layout of the space which became an open living, 3-bedroom, 2 bathrooms plus a laundry.

Internally, the kitchen was transformed and made spacious for family living by incorporating a semi-U-shaped kitchen with an open-plan/galley style layout with increased storage space of a walk-in pantry. Custom made wooden benches were installed using recycled salvaged timber from the demolition combined with sub-way tiling to enhance and maintain the already existing country aesthetic.

Within the bathrooms, the continuation of sub-way tiling and installation of the dado-height panelling to the entrance hallway kept the country heritage consistent. While the addition of luxury fittings in rainfall shower heads and black detailing in finishes brought the homestead into the modern age.

Externally, the re-cladding of (some) external walls, installation of new windows and a complete exterior re-paint tied aesthetic of the whole project together.
